“Dyslexia has affected my life in a big way. At first I was really frightened and embarrassed, because I was not as smart as other children and could not read in the way they do. Did not understand why I could not do many things, like the other children, and why I learned a lot slower. Then I found out I had dyslexia and was very confused about how I felt, in a way, I was happy to know that it was something that affects other people and I was not alone, but I also felt bad because I knew had a big fight ahead and could affect my life. Now, I feel proud. I work very hard to read and I accept that sometimes you might confuse me to read and that’s not bad. I’m not alone. Dyslexia has taught me that if you work hard, you can overcome great challenges."
